Choir reminder template

It’s always a good idea to keep parents in the know! This handy reminder sheet can be easily filled out and sent home before concerts and performances.

Anything that keeps worship services and choir performances on point and organized makes my heart happy. As a parent and a teacher I appreciate a written note (along with an email, a phone call, and for some – if you don’t know who I’m talking about, it’s probably you – perhaps, a homing pigeon). Organized ahead of time leaves more room for when the whole thing blows up on you!

When. Let them know when to arrive. Account for the parents who think the arrival time means that’s when they should pull into the parking lot. I always bump my call times up by at least 10 minutes. For me, arrival time means when they are exactly where they need to be.

Where. Be clear. Normal rehearsal space? On stage? Don’t just say to meet at the church/school.

Wearing. This will depend on a lot of things. But whatever it is, be specific. I generally have a rule for girls that they need to wear tights/leggings/shorts underneath if they are wearing dresses/skirts simply because nervous hands tend to bunch or pull up their clothing. Always consider economic diversity and if you are requiring something specific, make it clear to parents that the ability to purchase an outfit will never exclude their child. Find a way to have it paid for.

Notes. Here’s where you can add whatever info the parents need.
