Our wonderful God wonderfully made us!
This unit is about God’s purpose for our lives. God designed us to love him and to love others, to know him and to serve others, to worship him and to tell others about him.
Week 1
Jesus Session: In this first lesson we look at Deuteronomy 6:5 and learn how God designed us to love him.
Art Session: We make cute suncatcher hearts.
TIP: There are 3 crafts of different levels for each lesson. Besides the craft here, there are coloring sheets and coloring sheets with an added element. Check the craft instructions download for all directions.
Music Session: Introduce Wonderfully Wonderful.
Week 2
Jesus Session: Not only does God want us to love him, but he wants us to love everyone else too. Look at John 13:34.
Art Session: We make bracelets to share. You can make the bracelets with dyed pasta or you can use beads, whichever is more convenient for you.
Music Session: Learning the melody and the lyrics separately can be a great help, but ultimately memorization will come when they go together.
Week 3
Jesus Session: It’s hard to love someone that you don’t know. To learn more about God, we look at some of his names like healer, father, shepherd.
Art Session: We make a Names of God wheel. Super cute.
Music Session: Work on memorization.
Week 4
Jesus Session: We are made to serve people. Service comes in many forms.
Art Session: Coffee filter hearts are a fun way to connect love and service. The people who make coffee for church are serving.
Music Session: Allow the kids to practice standing like they would on stage. Get them used to the idea of singing in front of other people.
Week 5
Jesus Session: Worship! There are many ways to worship God, but singing is my favorite. If you have time, add a worship song in.
Art Session: We make tambourines. You can add bells on the outside or beans to the inside, anything that makes noise. Encourage kiddos to use them.
Music Session: Keep parents informed with this reminder.
Week 6
Jesus Session: Singing in church is part of telling others about God.
Art Session: This cute megaphone is easy to make. Remember to cut out the bottom of the cup.
Music Session: Have fun singing!
