Welcome to the first-of-its-kind KidMin Choir Curriculum; welcome to Little JAM Sessions.
Little JAM Sessions is KidMin Choir Curriculum introducing littles to Jesus, Art, and Music. Little JAM Sessions is for children’s church ministry or preschool choir. They’re great for midweek, second services, VBS, or part of the Sunday School curriculum. Each 6-week session includes lesson plans, craft instructions, scripture verses, and an original choir song. Kids church choirs are an excellent opportunity for discipleship and outreach. Before Little JAM Sessions, children’s ministry leaders, worship pastors, and choir leaders would have to figure out their own curriculum, often missing the discipleship opportunity or overwhelming and exhausting them. Now there’s a solution. And we’re starting with our youngest singers because it’s easiest to start or transition a program like this from the bottom up. KidMin Choir Curriculum is new and utilizes newer learning models that go beyond memorization and into understanding by use of kinesthetic, audio, and visual learning.
Little JAM Sessions
Little JAM Sessions is six-week KidMin choir curriculum for young learners. Through music, art, and Bible lessons, PreK-1st graders learn about Jesus and present a song to the church.
Solo JAM Sessions
Solo JAM Sessions are single-week lessons. Great for choir subs, special days, or in between series, each lesson has a Bible lesson, craft, and music suggestions.
Fam JAM Sessions
Made for at-home discipleship, Fam JAM is art and music and Bible lessons at home.
Summer JAM Sessions
Summer JAM is a flexible session of ten lessons that can be used for a VBS style camp or for weekly lessons.
KidMin Choir Curriculum Lesson Plans
Let’s take a look at a lesson plan together.
Each JAM Sessions Unit is comprised of six lessons.
Each Unit has a key verse. It’s short and easy to memorize.
Each lesson in the curriculum is based on the theme of this verse.
Lesson plans cover all three sections: Jesus, Art, and Music.
Lesson plans and craft instructions can be printed or seen on mobile devices.
KidMin Choir Curriculum Engagement at Home
Each week there is a JAM-at-Home activity booklet to send home.
Each booklet contains mini-lessons on Jesus, Art, and Music.
The memory verse and song lyrics are contained in the JAM-at-Home booklets.
Parents also can join the online community with more tips, videos, and activities. The QR codes link to the website and the playlist.
Pre-made social media posts can be sent weekly to engage and connect families.
Each Unit has a coordinating Spotify playlist for music throughout the week that goes with the Unit theme.
KidMin Choir Curriculum Choir Music
There is also a specially written original choir song for singing in church. Our choir songs are written specifically for young voices in an appropriate vocal range. The melodies are simple and amplified in the right hand of the piano music. The lyrics are Biblical and reinforce the Bible truths they are learning.
KidMin Choir Curriculum Includes
The heartbeat of Little JAM Sessions is JAM: Jesus, Art, Music. Each lesson includes all three aspects plus some extras. Summer JAM Sessions includes all of this plus games and snack ideas. Little JAM Sessions and Summer JAM Sessions are created for choirs and have original choir songs included. Solo JAM Sessions does not have a choir component as it is a single week curriculum, but it does contain worship song ideas. Fam JAM Sessions are for at home and also do not include a choir section. They do include a Spotify playlist and listening exercises in the music session.
