The playlist we’ve created has a lot of great music. Many of the singers are inspiring Christian men. Others sing a message of kindness. And others are from superhero movies by some of today’s great composers. While listening, talk about the music. What instruments did you hear? Was it fast or slow? Was it a solo or a choir or just instruments? Did it sound old or new? How did it make you feel?

Little JAM Sessions preschool ministry choir curriculum: Caregiver’s companion guide to Little JAM Sessions Impossible Possible Unit.

Luke 18:27 What is impossible with man, is possible with God.

Much better than Cinderella’s fairy godmother, with Jesus, impossible things were happening everyday! Jesus did many miracles and we are just covering a few. It’s interesting to see that some of his miracles were for provision, some were for healing, and some were for comfort. Most did a combination of these, as well as demonstrating God’s power. We don’t see as many miracles happen so obviously now, but they are still happening. In developing countries where medicine is rare and famines abound, they are more likely to be seen.

Little JAM Sessions Preschool Ministry Choir Curriculum: Caregiver’s companion guide to JAM Sessions Six Seven Unit.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

We realize there are numerous views on how the world began. We believe the Bible so we believe just what the verse says. However, within that realm we also realize that there are many ideas about how exactly that all happened. There are tons of questions like — were the 6 days literal days or actually 6 eras? And we are going to leave those questions out of the preschool conversation. I do, however encourage parents to study this on their own. And with that said, here we go!

Six Seven Unit Jesus Session

Help your preschooler learn about family
Help your preschooler learn about family

Little JAM Sessions preschool ministry choir curriculum: Caregiver’s companion guide to our KidMin choir Family Unit.

Galatians 3:26 For in Christ Jesus you are all children of God, through faith.

Family is messy, am I right? You didn’t pick your parents and your kids didn’t pick you. Family can be a traditional nuclear deal or it can be a big ol’ blend of all sorts of components. But here’s the thing, God loves you. He loves your child. He loves every single person in your family. Whether your family includes steps or halves or adoption or abuse or crazy in-laws with weird political views or incarcerated members, whether they all get along or you’ve been estranged for many years, whether they loved you how you needed or they didn’t, whatever your situation, whatever your child’s situation, God loves you. He wants you to be part of his family and, unlike humans, he won’t fail at it.

Romans 12:12 Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice.

I John 4:11 Since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

Love. In the name of love. All we need is love. Endless love. Well, maybe that’s not exactly where we’re headed. In this unit, We’ll be learning what the Bible says about love and we’ll be studying the five languages of love as defined by Gary Chapman in his book 5 Love Languages. On his website, you can figure out which is your dominant love language and hopefully figure out your kid’s as well.

A note on week 5. We will be discussing healthy touch such as high fives and hugs. We ask that you speak with your child about the difference between safe and unsafe touch. Here is a great article on exactly how to do that. I love how they term it safe and unsafe rather than good and bad to keep the focus off of the child feeling shame.
